Title: Head First Python Pdf A Brain-Friendly Guide
Author: Paul Barry
Published Date: 2016-08-25

Paul Barry is formally educated and trained in Computer Science and holds a Masters Degree in Computing Science. He has been programming professionally, on and off, for close to 25 years. Paul already has two textbooks to his name, and is also a Contributing Editor to Linux Journal magazine. His day job is with the Institute of Technology, Carlow in Ireland where he has spent over a decade preparing Ireland's next generation of computing folk to be productive in the workforce. His role as a third level educator affords him the opportunity to explore, learn and teach the very latest programming technologies and practices, which is something that he enjoys even though he knows this makes him a bonafide "geek". Paul lives just outside the town of Carlow in Ireland with his wife, two sons, daughter, dog and cat. There's a bunch of computers and a growing collection of music instruments in the house, too (and like a lot of the Head First family, Paul is a struggling guitarist trapped inside a geek's body). He has so far resisted any suggestion that the family acquire a hamster ... or a set of drums.

Want to learn the Python language without slogging your way through how-to manuals? With Head First Python, you’ll quickly grasp Python’s fundamentals, working with the built-in data structures and functions. Then you’ll move on to building your very own webapp, exploring database management, exception handling, and data wrangling. If you’re intrigued by what you can do with context managers, decorators, comprehensions, and generators, it’s all here. This second edition is a complete learning experience that will help you become a bonafide Python programmer in no time.

Why does this book look so different? Based on the latest research in cognitive science and learning theory, Head First Pythonuses a visually rich format to engage your mind, rather than a text-heavy approach that puts you to sleep. Why waste your time struggling with new concepts? This multi-sensory learning experience is designed for the way your brain really works.

Easier to get through the book because its fun to read. Excellent introduction to Python. The book focuses on being fun to read and providing a real understanding of why things work the way they do. The other two intro to Python books I have are not fun to read and concentrate more on trying to teach the reader as many functions as possible but at the cost of being a bit dry.The author spends several chapters explaining how Python can be used to create a web app that stores and manipulates user entered data in text and SQL databases. This is also a topic I was very interested in but assumed I would need another book for it.I invested about 30 hours over 2 weeks going through this book and I feel that I now truly understand the foundation of how Python works. This book is definitely not a reference book but that's what Google is for.Great Beginner Python learner resource Packed with tons of useful information for learning Python. I do suggest that you use as many sources as possible (books, free sites on the internet) to take advantage of various styles and challenges. It has been a long time since I looked forward to learning something technical, and this book is filling the void.Don't hesitate, just buy this book! I have read a number of Python books and watched videos but this book really digs down and explains a lot of what goes on under the hood. Excellent explanations, often repeated in different ways so that it is hammered home. Can't recommend any other book as much as this one. A must have!!!!!!!!!!!!

Title: Help Me! Pdf
I wanted to find out what would happen if I really did follow the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People? Really felt The Power of Now? Could life be transformed? Could I get rich? Skinny? Find love? Be more productive and fulfilled? Because I really did want all the things these books promised.

For years Journalist Marianne Power lined her bookshelves with dog-eared copies of definitive guides on how to live your best life, dipping in and out of self-help books when she needed them most. Then, one day, she woke up to find that the life she hoped for and the life she was living were worlds apart—and she set out to make some big changes.

Marianne decided to finally find out if her elusive “perfect existence”—the one without debt, anxiety, or hangover Netflix marathons, the one where she healthily bounced around town and met the cashmere-sweater-wearing man of her dreams—really did lie in the pages of our best known and acclaimed self help books. She vowed to test a book a month for one year, following its advice to the letter, taking what she hoped would be the surest path to a flawless new her. But as the months passed and Marianne’s reality was turned upside down, she found herself confronted with a different question: Self-help can change your life, but is it for the better?

With humor, audacity, disarming candor and unassuming wisdom, in Help Me Marianne Power plumbs the trials and tests of being a modern woman in a “have it all” culture, and what it really means to be our very best selves.

Funny, insightful memoir about exploring the self-help world I loved this account of Marianne Power's year (really about 16 months) about testing famous self-help books. Throughout the months, she focuses on one book and tries to thoroughly follow the advice in it, including well-known books such as The Secret, Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway, The Power of Now, Daring Greatly, and You Can Heal Your Life. Some books provide some insight and wake-up calls, while it isn't obvious that others work at all. Some conflict with each other, which can lead to a bit of a mess further down the line. We also see her go to various retreats and gatherings with some authors of the books, as well as a multitude of followers. Perhaps most importantly, we see how the books - and following the advice therein - affect Marianne's relationships with her friends and family.I found the author to be incredibly funny - she's someone you would want to be friends with if you met her in real life. I also thought she came to a lot of valuable insights into herself and how she addresses her problems - and on what was never really a "problem" to begin with. I also really enjoyed seeing someone attempt to put all of these books into action (she correctly notes that many people, including herself, read the books but never really try them out).Overall highly recommended if you have ever picked up a self-help book in your life. Even if you haven't, you would probably still enjoy this memoir!Help Me! Help Me! by Marianne Power is a free NetGalley ebook that I read in mid-December.The authoress herself, Marianne, is staving off anxiety, low motivation, and poor self-image, so she reads one common, yet classic self-help book per month for one year. These books tell her to embrace what she’s afraid of, wealth management, manifestation of what one desires, Manifestation: Extreme Edition, celestial protection, getting used to rejection, self-love, reducing stress, living in the moment, questioning one’s grievances, taking chances, and finding one’s ideal partner, yet not being of much help when she’s sick or depressed. While I was dissuaded from many of the books that Marianne read (but not from Marianne herself, since her plain-spoken and honest attitude had me cheering for her success), I see the most motivation (for me) to be had from The Secret by Rhonda Byrne and The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle.

Their Eyes Were Watching God Free Pdf

ISBN: B000C1X8GK
Title: Their Eyes Were Watching God Pdf
Their Eyes Were Watching God, an American classic, is the luminous and haunting novel about Janie Crawford, a Southern Black woman in the 1930s, whose journey from a free-spirited girl to a woman of independence and substance has inspired writers and readers for close to 70 years.

This poetic, graceful love story, rooted in Black folk traditions and steeped in mythic realism, celebrates boldly and brilliantly African-American culture and heritage. And in a powerful, mesmerizing narrative, it pays quiet tribute to a Black woman who, though constricted by the times, still demanded to be heard.

Originally published in 1937 and long out of print, the book was reissued in 1975 and nearly three decades later Their Eyes Were Watching God is considered a seminal novel in American fiction.

Phenomenal Zora Neale Hurston catches the spirit of African-Americans at that time and masterfully relays it to readers with a skilful mix of vernacular and formal English. This book is somber, insightful, relatable, and witty. More than once its blending of humor and imagery that is so uniquely Black caught me off guard, sending me into fits of laughter. Conversely, the journey and trials that Janie goes through are near heartbreaking. That this book was published in 1937 and still so powerful is a testament to the author's skill. Those who are not familiar with African-American or Caribbean dialect may find this a more challenging read, but it is well worth it.There's a reason this is on virtually every "classic" list you can find. I've set a goal to reread the classics I read when I was way too young to appreciate them. I first read THEIR EYES WERE WATCHING GOD because my older friend, Becky, told me it was "great" when I was about ten. I remember thinking it was a nice story, and that's about it. Coming back to forty years later, I can agree that it's great, but there's so much more here. The most special part of Zora Neale Hurston's writing is that she takes subjects that society wants to segment into "good" or "bad" and makes them human -- thereby making them complicated. Subjects like infidelity, domestic abuse, killing for self-protection, killing as an act of mercy, colorism, white savior complex, poverty, female pride, female submission, moral relativism... You name a tough topic, and Hurston handles it in this book with a deft touch rarely found in today's world.NOW I understand why it's a classic & don't just have to take everyone else's word for it. Definitely worth a read or ten.Beautiful book My daughter read this for her AP English class and I thought I should read this classic piece of literature as I had never had the opportunity. So I bought it and could not put it down. Months later, I am still thinking about this book, envisioning the cast of characters and events in the novel. Zora Neale Hurston was such a beautiful storyteller. I can see why this book is a classic piece of literature and in my mind, it stand heads above many of the other pieces of literature of have read from this period. I cannot recommend it enough to people.Hurston opens up a space for us to envision life shortly after Emancipation - where African Americans were freed but not free. She illuminates an early Black community (true) and one of the strong women (fictional) in that community. The trials and tribulations of the many characters and the barriers they encountered - the moments of joy, happiness, and pain all grip the reader and help the reader to not only imagine but to feel what it might have felt like to live during this time in the community with the people. A masterful work.

Girl, Stop Apologizing (Audible Exclusive Edition) Pdf

ISBN: B07FSTP9WQ
Title: Girl, Stop Apologizing (Audible Exclusive Edition) Pdf A Shame-Free Plan for Embracing and Achieving Your Goals

This exclusive Audible edition includes five downloadable prints featuring beautifully designed quotes from the book and access to Rachel's inspirational keynote from the wildly popular Rise Conference.

"I believe we can change the world. But first, we've got to stop living in fear of being judged for who we are."

Rachel Hollis has seen it too often: women not living into their full potential. They feel a tugging on their hearts for something more, but they're afraid of embarrassment, of falling short of perfection, of not being enough.

In Girl, Stop Apologizing, number-one New York Times best-selling author and founder of a multimillion-dollar media company, Rachel Hollis sounds a wake-up call. She knows that many women have been taught to define themselves in light of other people - whether as wife, mother, daughter, or employee - instead of learning how to own who they are and what they want. With a challenge to women everywhere to stop talking themselves out of their dreams, Hollis identifies the excuses to let go of, the behaviors to adopt, and the skills to acquire on the path to growth, confidence, and believing in yourself.

PLEASE NOTE: When you purchase this title, the accompanying PDF will be available in your Audible Library along with the audio.
